The 10th TVET and Employment Round Table was held by the Department of Labor and Social Affairs of Herat Province in the Women Empowerment and Social Association (WESA) Conference Room in Herat province. This Round Table meeting was held in 2019 in order to collaborate, improve coordination and improve the delivery of services by international and local NGOs active in the field of vocational training and employment.

Mr. Abdul Sattar Zarifi, Director of Herat Department of Labor and Social Affairs, head of the craftsmen union, head of Experts Council, representatives of Global Partners (GP), Norwegian Refugee Committee (NRC), the Danish Refugee Committee (DRC), Coordination of Rehabilitation & Development Services

For Afghanistan (CRDSA), DACAAR, OSD, Help, War Child, Merci Corps, OSAA, World Food Program (WFP), HiHAF, WEBTO, MCA, H-A.V.I, Afghan-Iran Vocational Training Center and Jami Vocational Training Center attended the meeting.

At the outset, Mr. Abdul Sattar Zarifi, head of labor unit of Department of Labor and Social Affairs, welcomed the participants, highlighted the important issues of the previous Round Table meeting and explained the agenda for this meeting. He also asked all participants to introduce themselves.

Then 11 organizations and technical and vocational education and training centers described their activities in the field of technical/vocational training and employment in 2019.

In addition, the organizations expressed their future plans and the challenges they faced in implementing their projects. Questions raised were answered by the respondents. Then, Mr. Shahir, the head of the council of experts, wished all the active organizations in the field of technical/vocational training success and said that the organizations play an important role in reducing unemployment by offering training in standard and required vocations in labor market in Herat province.

The ceremony was ended with a prayer.
