3-Days TVET and Employment Fair

Help and OSAA organizations in coordination with Herat DoLSA organized and inaugurated a 3-day TVET and Employment Fair on Tuesday April 16th 2018 in Women Empowerment and Social Association (WESA).

The fair was inaugurated following the graduation ceremony for the last round of TVET programs of Help and OSAA funded by Ministry of Development and Economic Cooperation of Germany (BMZ) by Mr. Abdul Qayoum Afghan, Head of Herat Department of Labor and Social Affairs (DoLSA).

All 2,014 graduates of last Help’s BMZ funded TVET and Employment project beneficiaries were invited to attend the 3-day TVET Products and Employment Fair which was held in order to facilitate employment opportunities. 20 booths were installed and many graduates of the project took part, contributed and introduced their services and products from rug-weaving, handicrafts, beauty parlor, mobile-repair, home appliance repair, house-wiring, bag making, general mechanic, industrial electricity, sewing machine repair, food process, advanced tailoring, carpet weaving and carpentry.

In addition, a reception and information booth was installed in order to introduce activities of vocational training centers, EESC services and information about the fair. The booth also registered vacant posts and new employers/companies into EESC database. Employers cooperating with EESC in different vocations were invited to visit the employment fair through invitation cards and brochures.

At the end of the 3-day fair, 430 visitors from different sectors were registered in reception; including 62 visitors from governmental departments, non-governmental organizations and associations, 70 employers and 298 public visitors. Also 60 public job seekers were registered in EESC database.

Moreover, many companies from private sector shared their vacant posts for tailoring, industrial electricity, food process, administrator and marketing officers’ jobs.

Besides, Heray Donya food industry received the list of beneficiaries attending the booths and listed their promotional tools and promised to prepare and print some including billboards, visit cards, banners and brochures. A welding workshop also promised to cooperate in preparing carpet weaving frames.
