Cultural and Social Affairs Deputy of Herat Governor visits the Cash Distribution Procedure to Trainees of Ansari Vocational Training Center

The seventh round of World Food Program’s (WFP) cash assistance for the trainees of Ansari Vocational Training Center/VTC of the Department of Labor and Social Affairs of Herat Province started on Tuesday 6 Oct 2020, with the presence of Mrs. Monisah Hasan Zadah, Cultural and Social Affairs Deputy of Herat Governor and Mr. Abdul Qayum Afghan, Director of Labor and Social affairs of Herat Province.

In a ceremony held at Ansari VTC, Mohammad Ali Soroosh, program manager of Help for Afghanistan, spoke about how Ansari VTC operates in the field of Vocational and Technical training and covering the families of street working children and the importance of such activities in Afghanistan.

Mr. Soroosh praised the continuation of the World Food Program’s cash assistance to the beneficiaries of Ansari VTC, especially during the outbreak of the Coronavirus, and called it an effective and valuable action.

It is worth mentioning that due to the outbreak of Coronavirus, the classes of Ansari VTC were closed for nearly 6 months, so the beneficiaries of that round will participate in the classes and received the cash assistance by WFP for another six months as compensation to complete their training courses.

Furthermore, Mrs. Monisah Hasan Zadah, Cultural and Social Affairs Deputy of Herat Governor, praised the activities of Ansari VTC and Help for providing the situation of learning the vocation and called for the continuation of this process and efforts to make it more effective.

At the end of the ceremony, Mrs. Hasan Zadah visited different vocational training classes of Ansari VTC.

It should be noted that currently, 500 eligible people are benefiting from this program and vocational courses of Ansari VTC in the city and another 100 people in the Mobile Vocational Training Center in Islam Qala Township in Herat province.

Help has received a project from UNICEF and the headquarters of the German Help in Bonn, Germany. The mentioned Project Title is: “Reintegration of Highly Vulnerable Children (Including Street Working Children, Internally Displaced Children, Unaccompanied Cross Border Children, and Children applying to join the Police force) for 2,300 People in Herat, Badghis, Ghor and Farah provinces by Providing Vocational Training and Vocational Facilities” which is applicable for 24 months from October 14th, 2019 to October 13th, 2021.
