Help holds the 2nd Round of Proposal Writing Training to students of different faculty of Herat University

In continuation of capacity building trainings to the students of last semester of Herat University, Help organized the 2nd round of “Proposal Writing Training” to 28 last semester students from different faculties including: Stomatology, English Literature, German Literature, Engineering, Science, Economy, Law and Political Science, Agriculture and Public Administration.

The training was offered from 20-22 December, 2020, for three half-days at Academic Research Center of Herat University-Training Hall with the aim to develop and strengthen their capacities and to bring changes in specific areas of knowledge and skills in order to help them design and develop good project proposal.

Training Objectives:

  • Differentiate between project and program;
  • Comprehend project management and discuss project cycle;
  • Understand situation analysis process in project management;
  • Distinguish between concept note and proposals;
  • Develop proposal and discuss proposal writing steps;
  • Draft proposal components;
  • Understand donor requirements;

The training program was officially opened by remarks by Dr. Mohamamd Hakim Neyazmand, Head of Academic Research Center-Herat University and Sohrab Faizy, Help’s Master Trainer, encouraging the participants to take the Proposal Writing Training seriously with the intention of enhancing their knowledge and skills for better project designing for community needs.

At the beginning of the training a pre-test was taken from participants in order to identify the capacity and level of knowledge of the participants regarding proposal writing and at the end a post-test was conducted in order to assess the skills, knowledge, and understanding as a result of the training. Also at the end of the training evaluation form /evaluation questionnaire was distributed for participants in order to evaluate the training results, its success amongst the participants as well as get their suggestions/recommendations for the next training program

Overall the training was evaluated positive both by trainer and participants and Dr. Mohamamd Hakim Neyazmand thanked and appreciated Help for the successful organization of the 2nd round of Proposal Writing Training and requested more of such trainings in the future.

The training ended with distribution of certificate to successful participants.
