Help launches Psycho-Social Support sessions to the most deprived and highly vulnerable children in Farah province

 The first round of PSS (Psycho-Social Support) sessions on “the Provision in-person psycho-social counseling and support to most deprived children who are highly vulnerable and require psychological & social advice” was conducted for 120 children in Farah province on, December 13th 2020.

The main objective of this program is to make an intimate atmosphere for street working children, orphans and vulnerable children to have fun (reading short stories, play games, and other entrainment), and give them Psycho-Social Counselling if they need.

The first round of PSS sessions has been completed for 120 children in Farah province. In each session 30 children both boys and girls participated.

Launching such programs are warmly welcomed by children, parents, council and community members.  They also thanked Help for supporting the vulnerable children in Farah province.

Help in Afghanistan has launched a project from the United Nations International Children Fund (UNICEF) entitled “Supporting Vulnerable Children by Providing Humanitarian Child Protection Services in Herat, Ghor, and Farah Provinces through Media Awareness, Psycho-social Counseling to the children, their families, religious leaders and society against violence, abuse, exploitation, and negative dealing mechanisms.” This project is scheduled to be implemented during the next 10 months from June 21, 2020, to April 21, 2021, the main purpose of which is to protect children against neglecting, abusing, mistreatment as well as child care and its side effects.
