Launching “Psychosocial Support Program” by Help has a positive impact on the lives of rural participants

Recently, Help has launched an awareness program called “Psychosocial Support Program” for rural men and women in Herat Province. Those whose children are engaged in hard work in kilns were the participants of this program.

The issues such as children’s rights, underage marriage, child addiction, children protection, and other issues related to children’s lives were discussed in each session.

One of the participants in this program is Fatemeh, a 25-year-old woman who has four children and a five-month-old child in her womb.

Fatemeh’s husband working in kilns. They do not have a good living situation and cannot even meet the basic needs of their life (food, clothing, housing). They do not have even the smallest facilities of life.

Due to her lack of familiarity with the clinic and the uninterrupted births, she has four children and none of her children have facilities such as food, clothing, housing, and school supplies.

As she spoke with Help social workers, in addition to being unfamiliar with Consecutive Birth She felt ashamed to learn about uninterrupted births and ways to prevent successive births.

She, who has participated in awareness-raising sessions held by Help, has received enough information about these cases, and now decides to see a doctor at her village clinic on a regular basis so that she can follow the proper procedures for giving birth to her baby.

Holding these one-day awareness programs for the women and men of the village was welcomed warmly and called for the continuation of such programs.

It should be noted that Help has received a project from UNICEF and the headquarters of the German Help in Bonn, Germany. The mentioned Project Title is: “Reintegration of Highly Vulnerable Children (Including Street Working Children, Internally Displaced Children, Unaccompanied Cross Border Children, and Children applying to join the Police force) for 2,300 People in Herat, Badghis, Ghor and Farah provinces by Providing Vocational Training and Vocational Facilities” which is applicable for 24 months from October 14th, 2019 to October 13th, 2021
