The Technical and Vocational Education and Training project for 200 individuals – 150 women and 50 men –started by Help INGO and UN-WFP in Ansari VTC on 20 May 2019 in Herat Province and will continue for about 8 months. The beneficiaries of this project are: 80% IDPs, 10% returnees and 10% vulnerable individuals from host community. The govt. sectorial department of this project is Department of Labor and Social Affairs (DoLSA).

Vocational Training classes of this project are Carpet Weaving, Beauty Parlor, and Advanced Tailoring for female trainees, Industrial Electricity, and House Wiring for male trainees. It’s to be noted that mentioned classes are selected based on the findings of the Marketable Vocations Research which had been conducted by Help INGO, OSAA and DoLSA in Herat in second half of 2018. Of these vocations, Tailoring and Industrial Electricity are offered at advanced level for trainees who are familiar with the primary level of the related vocation.

Beneficiaries in this project are generally bread winners or assistant to their families aged between 18 to 35. These individuals are ready to attend full day training. They have to attend half day training in the VTC, while the other half, they have to work in workshops, factories, and houses in order to be able to improve their practical skills and start generating income.
