Story of Ms. Masuma, a successful case of “Beauty Parlor Class” Neswan Association, Jebrail Township

Lots of women in our country are bread winners. Women who lack literacy and marketable skills are forced to do difficult works and fulfil the responsibilities of their families.

Biography of Ms. Masuma daughter of Zamen:

Masuma is 29 years old and is head of a family of four members. Masuma has spent her childhood and adolescence days with her family in migration. After she returned to Afghanistan, she settled in Jebrail Township and started a new life. Unfortunately, she lost her husband in an accident which shattered her and her children’s life. She spent many days at home with mental and economic problems until she was introduced to Help’s vocational training center in Jabrail by one of the local community members.

Masuma’s new life:

With the start of her vocational training at Jebrail VTC, Masuma has slowly improved mentally and hopes for her life again. She learned beauty parlor vocation very well. She says she was much interested in beauty parlor since she was a teenager and wanted to be skilled in this profession in the future.

Upon graduation from the six-month vocational training course in beauty parlor, she entered labor market with the support of Employment Service Center (ESC) and opened “Dell Ara” Beauty Parlor Salon. She lives with her children now and is happy and satisfied with her new job. She has been able to forget the past events and problems. Now she has started a new life with good income and tries to make a good future for her children. She says that all these hopes and happiness in her life have come after learning the vocation at Help INGO VTC and earning income.

She says: “I appreciate Help INGO, OSAA NGO and WFP, for having provided me with the opportunity to rebuild my life”.
