Graduation ceremony of Help internship program was held in Qazi Amanullah Hall-Herat yesterday.
Asiluddin Jami, Herat Deputy Governor, Seyed Wahid Qatali, Head of Herat Provincial Council, Abdul Salam Salam, Head of west-zone Civil Services Commission (CSC), Mohammad Ali Soroosh, Help Capacity Building Program Director, officials of governmental and non-governmental organizations and civil society activists attended the ceremony.
Mr. Abdul Salam Salam, Head of West-Zone CSC said, “We aim to build the capacity of female university-graduates and provide them job opportunities in the local government as civil servants. He added, “More than 90% of graduates of the internship program secured job in governmental and non-governmental organizations and private sector or doing their internship.”
Head of Herat Provincial Council, Mr. Seyed Wahid Qatali and Herat Deputy Governor, Mr. Asiluddin Jami appreciated Help activities and welcomed women empowerment in various fields.
110 female university-graduates have attended these 4 rounds of internship program and 81 successfully passed and received certificates.
Internship program includes 6-months theory and practical training in two shifts, morning and afternoon. The interns pass their stage and practically work as intern in governmental departments in the morning shift while in the afternoon they acquire management principles, project cycle management, good governance, English, computer, and Ecology management.
Since July 2012, Help has been running Herat Civil Servants Training Center in close cooperation and coordination with CSC-West Zone Department and Capacity Building Provincial Committee. Presently, the sixth round of internship program and the 5th round of civil servants training are going on and both six month training courses will finish by the end of 2014.
